Our approach

Bench My Site is an early-stage website auditing and benchmarking service. This policy explains the information we handle when you use our website or private workspace, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information we handle

Account and workspace information. This includes the name and email address you provide, a securely stored password hash, and the website addresses and audit requests you add to your workspace.

Service and security information. We process session and security data needed to sign you in, protect the service, diagnose faults, and keep an account available.

Audit information. When collection is enabled for an approved audit, the service may record measurement outputs and evidence needed to explain that audit. We do not start a collection merely because a website address is saved.

Why we use information

We use this information to operate the private workspace, provide and secure the service, respond to support requests, and improve the product during the pilot. We do not sell personal information or use advertising cookies.

Cookies and technical data

The service uses essential cookies and similar technical measures for sign-in, session security, and fraud prevention. We do not currently use those cookies for advertising. Like most online services, our infrastructure may receive limited technical information such as IP address, browser details, request time, and error logs in order to deliver and secure the service.

Service providers and transfers

We use carefully selected infrastructure and security providers to operate Bench My Site. This may include Cloudflare for domain, network, and security services and Hetzner for hosting. Those providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us and subject to their own contractual and legal obligations.

Retention and your choices

We retain account and workspace information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for security, legal, or operational reasons. You may ask us to access, correct, export, or delete personal information associated with your account. We will respond to requests as required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

As the service develops, we may update this policy. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
